In addition to intensively interacting with the mining material extraction industry and the metal industry through PT LAPI and LAPI ITB, lecturers of the Metallurgical Engineering Group also carry out Community Service activities through LPPM ITB, including counseling blacksmithing activities in Ciwidey and assisting knife production in Bareng Village, Kudus, Central Java. To assist the government in managing mineral and coal resources, lecturers at the Metallurgical Engineering Group are actively involved in the preparation of mineral and coal management policies at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, as well as assisting the Ministry of Research and Technology in the preparation of a road map for raw materials in Indonesia.
